Database Architect

At Nomoko we want to unlock the power of Digital Twins, one industry at a time. Our first industry is Property Technology (PropTech), and for that we are developing a browser-based app to enable property investors to identify and analyze real estate opportunities more easily.
We are looking for a full time DATABASE ARCHITECT to create and maintain Nomoko Databases. Our main office is located in Zurich, but we are open to discuss the possibility of remote working.
What's there to do?
We have a SOA architecture with Spring-boot, React, PostGIS and Gitlab CI, and we will be moving to the cloud, soon. So, indeed, there’s a lot to do!
Your responsibilities in a nutshell:
• Design, development, and management of cloud and on-premise databases
• Data integrity and quality assurance
• Continuation of best practices for database development activities
• Optimization of database systems in terms of performance and reliability
• Database monitoring and alerting
• Documentation and versioning
As you can see, you will not only work hands-on on the implementation. Apart from that, you can put your experience to use when it comes to conceptualizing and strategic decision-making.

What about the requirements?
We really want you to succeed in this role - therefore, you should have the following skills and experiences.
Your skills (required):
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Broad experience and passion for database architecture, design, and administration
• Strong knowledge about security, RBAC, attack mitigation
• Software development experience using SQL, Java, Linux/Unix
• Object-Oriented Analysis and Design techniques
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English
Your skills (nice to have):
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar education
• Programming experience with Kotlin/JVM, Hibernate, Python
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Experience with 3D spatial databases and the development of ETL pipelines
